Ms. O’Hehir attended the University of Minnesota where she received degrees in Dental Hygiene and Higher Education. Five decades as a dental hygienist have included private practice in the United States and Zurich, Switzerland, and faculty positions at the Universities of Minnesota, Washington,
Arizona, and Louisville. She pioneered the position of Periodontal Therapist in Arizona, and worked for several years teaching local anesthesia and providing local anesthesia in an oral surgery practice. She has completed training in both Myofunctional Therapy and Buteyko Breathing. In addition to extensive clinical practice experience, she is an international lecturer, educator, administrator, writer, and consumer advocate. In 2012, Trisha and two dental hygiene colleagues founded O’Hehir University, an international, online educational center where licensed dental hygienists can complete a Bachelor of Science Degree in Oral Health Promotion. She authored 26 years of Perio Reports research summaries, the textbook Compendium of Current Research, contributed to the texts Comprehensive Dental Hygiene Care, by Irene Woodall, and Comprehensive Periodontics for the Dental Hygienist. Her articles have appeared in Hygienetown, RDH, JDH, JPH, Access, JDR, and JADA. Her awards include 1991, Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Minnesota, School of Dental Hygiene, and the Warner-Lambert/ADHA Excellence in Dental Hygiene Award in 1992. Trisha currently lives and works in Phoenix, Arizona, where she is a Past-President of the Arizona State Dental Hygienists’ Association. Trisha is considered a future-focused thinker who presents thought-provoking programs combining current research, practical applications, and alternatives for the future.
Dr. Joy D. Void-Holmes
Dr. Joy D. Void-Holmes is a registered dental hygienist with over 25 years of clinical experience. She holds a Master of Health Science with a concentration in Forensic Investigative Science and Doctor of Health Science degree from Nova Southeastern University. She is the
founder of Dr. Joy, RDH™ and co-founder of JELL-ED. Dr. Joy has presented continuing education courses nationally and internationally. She serves as a Consultant Examiner for the CDCA-WREB-CITA examining board, board member for the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners. She is on the editorial advisory board for Inside Dental Hygiene and advisory board for RDH magazine. Dr. Joy is an active member of the American Academy of Dental Hygiene, American Dental Hygienists’ Association, and the Maryland Dental Action Coalition.
Anne O. Rice,
Anne O. Rice, BS, RDH, CDP, FAAOSH,founded Oral Systemic Seminars after almost 30 years of clinical practice and is passionate about educating the community on modifiable risk factors for dementia and their relationship to dentistry. Anne is a certified dementia practitioner, a

Dr. William Paveletz, DMD
Dr. William Paveletz, DMD, is a graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry. Upon receiving his DMD degree he completed a one-year general practice residency at the University of Pittsburgh and continued studying prosthetics at the Graduate Department of Pittsburgh Dental School.
Currently, he is of VOCO’s North America Clinical Directors of Continuing Education. He lectures nationally / internationally to dental retailers, dental societies, and teaching institutions. Dr. Paveletz has been published in various dental trade publications regarding temporization techniques with dental implants, treating geriatric patients, and fluoridation usage in adolescents. He has a true passion for preventative and restorative dentistry with an emphasis on biocompatibility and holistic dentistry. His hands-on workshops focus on topics ranging from dental coding and billing, hygiene, esthetic dentistry, fixed and removable prosthetics, and Nano and ORMOCER® technologies.
Jodi Deming, RDH, OMT
Jodi started practicing as a dental hygienist in 1988. In the early 1990s, an effort to understand periodontal disease etiology and treatment became involved with biofilm research. At that time the term was rarely used in dentistry except in the context of dental unit waterlines. As a clinical research
associate, Jodi was. involved with biofilm growth and therapeutic product development evaluating the effect on dental biofilms. Understanding biofilms, she developed a passion for non-surgical therapy and the results of thorough periodontal debridement. Jodi has worked for over 33 years mastering non-surgical periodontal therapy. techniques and procedures. Her clinical career has been in periodontal and prosthodontic practices. Jodi is a national and international educator, clinician, and lecturer. She has presented hundreds of lectures and workshops on the advanced integration of ultrasonic, hand instrumentation, and guided biofilm therapy. Jodi has served as adjunct faculty at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry Department of Dental Hygiene and Spear Education. A featured speaker for the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP,) American Dental Hygiene Association (ADHA), Western Society of Periodontology (WSP), Koi’s Center, numerous universities, and dental associations throughout the US and Europe.
Sherri M. Lukes
Sherri M. Lukes, RDH, MS, FAADH, has been a dental hygienist for 42 years and holds advanced degrees in education. She is associate professor emerita, at Southern Illinois University, where she taught oral pathology, public health and multicultural dental hygiene. Research was concentrated
in migrant oral health, oral pathology, and public health issues, resulting in multiple peer reviewed publications. Sherri enjoys integrating her years of experience into CE courses to empower dental professionals in the process of care. She is an approved speaker of and holds a pathology fellowship in the American Academy of Dental Hygiene, is a past president of the Illinois Dental Hygienists’ Association, and a member of the American Academy of Oral Medicine. Community service includes biannual, yearly trips to central/southern Mexico, delivering preventive care in an orphanage and remote villages. Honors include Community Service, Research, and Teacher of the Year awards while at SIU, IFLOSS Coalition/ Illinois Department of Public Health Oral Health Champion Award and the Sunstar/RDH Award of Distinction.
KATRINA M. SANDERS
Katrina is a clinical dental hygienist, author, and international speaker. She is a vibrant, passionate, and charismatic award-winning educator with a unique approach to delivering continuing dental education. Katrina is the Clinical Liaison, Hygiene Excellence, and Innovation for AZ Perio, the
country’s largest periodontal practice. She works alongside Diplomates to the American Board of Periodontology to instruct on collaborative professionalism and standard of care protocols while delivering education through hygiene boot camps and study clubs. Known as “The Dental Resultant”, Katrina is a dental hygiene consultant focused on high-level standards, excellence, and production. Her philanthropic efforts include dental humanitarian work in developing countries, supporting abused and homeless animals, and spreading awareness about the benefits of organ and tissue donation.
Heather Rogers, BSDH
Heather M. Rogers began her career in dental hygiene in 1999 when she graduated from the College of Southern Nevada. She has worked in prosthodontics, periodontics, and general dentistry. Heather discovered
her love for presenting educational courses while achieving her bachelor’s degree and
being involved with her professional association.
She completed her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2010 and is currently providing continuing education for professionals in communications, diabetes, implant maintenance, probiotics, and infection control.

Dr. Mia Geisinger
As Diplomate in the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. Geisinger is Board Certified in Periodontology and Implant Surgery. She serves as a Professor and the Director of Advanced Education in Periodontology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has served on
numerous regional and nationally organized dental committees, including as the Chair of the American Dental Association’s Council on Scientific Affairs and as President of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. She currently serves as the Vice President for the American Academy of Periodontology and on the Board of Directors of the American Dental Association Science and Research Institute. Dr. Geisinger lectures nationally and internationally, and she is passionate about promoting periodontal health and overall wellness for all!
She is also a mom, an exercise enthusiast, and always looking for a new pair of heels to top off her favorite outfits!

Dr. Abhiram Maddi
Dr. Abhiram Maddi is a full-time periodontal educator serving as an Associate Professor in the Division of Periodontics at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Dr. Maddi is a clinician-scientist with extensive clinical and research training. After receiving his dental degree from Manipal College of
Dental Surgery in India, Dr. Maddi came to the US to pursue his Ph.D. in Oral Biology and Certificate in Periodontics from the School of Dental Medicine, University at Buffalo, where he also worked for almost 10 years as a full-time faculty and periodontal educator. He believes he is extremely fortunate to be mentored by Dr. Sebastian Ciancio and Dr. Robert Genco, legends of the field of periodontics, during his tenure at University at Buffalo. Dr. Maddi has received several teaching awards from the American Academy of Periodontics (AAP) – AAP Teaching Fellowship (2016) and Abrams & Sylvia Chasens Teaching & Research Fellowship (2012). His research interests include molecular microbiology and genetics with a perspective to treat oral and systemic microbial infections. He maintains an independent laboratory and is supported by NIH/NIDCR funding. Dr. Maddi is also a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology (ABP) and currently maintains an active private practice of periodontics and surgical implantology.
Dr. Junichi Watahiki
Dr. Junichi Watahiki graduated from Showa University School of dentistry, Tokyo, Japan in 1999. He was trained and received Ph.D. Degree from the Department of Orthodontics School of Dentistry, Showa University, Tokyo. He has researched periodontal regeneration and brain function
related to Orthodontics at RIKEN, the National Research and Development Institute, and University in Japan over ten years, then He studied Periodontics and Prosthodontics at SJCD TOKYO and the New York University College of Dentistry. He published over 50 articles, received many awards, and is lecturing many times about Periodontal-Orthodontics in the world. Now he works at a private clinic and works as Visiting Associate Professor at the department of orthodontics, at Showa University in Tokyo. Now his specialty is Interdisciplinary Orthodontics, which is advocated as the new dental field by him. He established IOS(Interdisciplinary Orthodontics Society) in 2019.
Dr. Dwayne Karateew
Dr. Karateew completed dental school at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery (now the College of Dental Medicine) in New York City. This was followed by certificates in both Periodontics and Fixed Prosthodontics from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
He has practiced for 20 years in his hometown of Vancouver, Canada maintaining a practice that focused on Periodontics, Prosthodontics, and Implant centered dentistry. Currently, he is a Clinical Associate Professor and the Program Director of the Advanced Education in Periodontology (PG Residency) at UIC College of Dentistry in Chicago Illinois, where he is involved in both the education of the postgraduate Periodontology residents as well as with clinical research. Dr. Karateew has earned the status of a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Surgery.
Dr. Karateew has made clinically relevant presentations, focused on implant-related topics, in over 20 countries. Additionally, Dr. Karateew has published many clinically relevant articles served as the Medical Editor for a reference book on 3-D imaging for dental applications (Specialty Imaging: Dental Implants, Tamimi (Amirsys Publishing)) as well as recently published his own reference book on implant dentistry (Implant Aesthetics, Springer Publishing (Berlin)) and authoring or co-authoring a chapter on Crown Lengthening (Advances in Periodontal Surgery, Nares ed., Springer Publishing (Berlin)) and Role of CBCT and its diagnostics in the treatment of Interdisciplinary Dentofacial Therapy (Surgically Facilitated Orthodontic Therapy – An Interdisciplinary Approach, Mandelaris, G, and Vence, B. eds., Springer Publishing (Berlin)). Recently, Dr. Karteew was elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration and served as the Scientific Chair for the 2021 annual meeting of the AO. He is the Chairperson of the AAP Program Directors committee as well as having a seat on the AAP Education Committee.
