Maximizing your Value as a Dental Hygienist @ Time Square Restaurant

Discover how Phoenix College can help you increase your marketability by adding to your dental hygiene skill set. Learning objectives include discussion of the following courses offered by Phoenix College’s Center for Continuing Dental Education and the manner to apply and incorporate the principles and methods taught in these courses into dental hygiene practice: (1) The Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary Course; (2) The Dental Laser Course; and (3) The Interim Therapeutic Restorations Course

Rosa Querry, RDH, BSDH has worked in dentistry for 18 years as a front office administrator, dental assistant, and dental hygienist. Rosa graduated from Phoenix College’s Dental Assisting Program in 2005, Phoenix College’s Dental Hygiene Program in 2008, and went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2010 from NAU. She is currently seeking her master’s degree in Educational Leadership at NAU. She has been adjunct dental hygiene and dental assisting faculty at Phoenix College for the past 7 years and is also a coordinator at PC’s Center for Continuing Dental Education.

Brandi Mazzarella, RDH,BSDH has been working as a dental hygienist for more than 19 years. She has developed a reputation for clinical excellence and compassionate care and continues to hone her skills by participating in continuing dental hygiene education programs. She also works as first year adjunct dental hygiene clinical faculty at Phoenix College and is also a coordinator at PC’s Center for Continuing Dental Education.

Course Description:

The D4346 code finally assists in clearly identifying and treating gingivitis after decades of merely dumping gingival inflammation into the same category as health. The fundamentals are easy to use tools that educate oral health professionals. The importance of allowing clinicians and patients the proper techniques to experience “hands on” is essential to the success of the continuum of care.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify 8 major focus points to grasp to correctly implement the D4346 code
  • Review the AAP 2018 Health and Disease Classification System
  • Help the patient to understand and take responsibility for their oral health problems and ASK for your help through Motivational Interviewing.
  • Introduce new technology to help chart overall oral health and accurate interdental bleeding scores.

CADHA 2nd Annual Wine Retreat and CEs

Come and enjoy the wine country of Arizona with other hygienists for the 2nd Annual CADHA Wine Retreat and CE! During this overnight event, you will be inspired by the amazing education provided by our returning Keynote Speaker, Katrina Sanders, RDH, BSDH, M.Ed, RF and new this year will be Marianne Dryer, RDH, MEd and Danette Ocegueda RDH, MS from Philips Sonicare. Limited rooms are available, so a shared space will make this even more fun with your closest hygiene buddies!

Attendees can receive up to 9 CEU’s, be provided coach transportation roundtrip from Phoenix to Cottonwood, lunch, dessert and pizza dinner as well as touring 3 tasting rooms (Merkin, Burning Tree and AZ Stronghold), your shared overnight accommodations at the Iron Horse or The Tavern (based on availability), yoga and kombucha.
